Rose of Sharon Patch

Hey there! My name is Chris, a 1.5-gen immigrant from Korea. My family came to Canada when I was 11, and having come to a new place as a not-so-little kid, the reality of language barriers as an immigrant was always present. And because the language barrier never really leaves our parents’ generation, the first-generation immigrants, I wanted to do my part in helping Rose of Sharon remain in the Korean-Canadian community so that our first-generation family members could spend their retirement days where they can feel at home.

I decided to support the Rose of Sharon campaign through selling patches so I could make use of my skillset while also raising awareness in the people around me. Every step of the work involved in this, from graphic design to outreach/marketing, was enjoyable and this was a great way through which I could support my community while doing things I love!
